The City of Thunder Bay is embracing and promoting respect., an initiative developed and practiced by students and staff at Confederation College. Develop a program to extend the respect. campaign to the Education sector in 2013 and an enhanced celebration for the 2013 International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (March 21, 2013) with the following objectives:
- Encourage residents to be more open-minded when it comes to ethnicity and people who could be considered different.
- Educate the public on what respect. means and how these beliefs can be incorporated into their daily lives.
- Educate people who may be experiencing hateful remarks by letting them know who they can talk to and what they should do.
